Weiter so!

Compact tomahawk "Balor" with polymer composite handle

Got this compact tomahawk as a birthday gift for my boyfriend, and he absolutely loves it! The quality is on par with Winkler —razor-sharp, perfectly balanced, and built like a tank. The packaging was super secure, and shipping was unbelievably fast. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He’s already thinking about getting another one!

Compact tomahawk "Balor" with polymer composite handle

I wanted a sayoc tomahawk that wasn’t just for display but could actually perform under real conditions. This one exceeded my expectations! The balance is perfect, the edge came razor-sharp, and the textolite handle scales are fitted so precisely that there’s no gap or movement at all. The grip feels incredibly solid, even after repeated heavy use. Whether for chopping, throwing, or fieldwork, this tomahawk is fully functional and built to last. No gimmicks, just pure craftsmanship!

Compact tomahawk "Balor" with polymer composite handle

The compact tactical tomahawk I received is pretty solid and well built with a very comfortable handle but, I was a little disappointed. The tomahawk arrived pretty dull, even duller than most off the rack utility axes you can purchase from any hardware store. I don’t know if the tomahawk is purposely shipped dull but, I might have hesitated ordering it if I knew it would be that dull. Luckily I’m proficient with sharpening knives, axes and hatchets so I was able to give it a good edge. Personally, “survival” type tools like a hatchet or tomahawk should have a good cutting edge without compromising the angle grind so it can be utilized in multiple applications. Secondly, the weight without the sheath was 1.8 lbs, not 1.54 lbs according to the “overall weight” description on the ancientsmithy website. Like I said, I was a little disappointed but do not hate the tomahawk. It’s fine after a little TLC but I wanted to give an honest perspective of the craftsmanship. Personally, I believe the price point could be a little cheaper but, I don’t consider it overpriced either. Overall it’s a good compact tactical tomahawk that’s very solid and should hold up to abuse. I just wish it didn’t show up dull or I would have already ordered the other version, the compact tactical "Alvaldi" tomahawk. If I ordered it and shows up dull it would be more challenging to sharpen so I’m going to pass on it…

Store owner replied: Hello! Thank you for a such big feedback for our compact tactical tomahawk. Talking about the tomahawk's sharpening - we specially make such sharpening so that the axe is sharp enough to cut things and not break during chopping. If this axe is sharpened like a knife, the blade may break when it hits a hard surface. We're happy to hear you like the axe anyway, even if you had to improve it to your own requirements. We see you're a master of your craft and we don't want to make your experience with our products bad. We really appreciate your time and your advice for our axes and hope this situation won't affect your joy using this tomahawk in the future.
