This tomahawk is great. I have a CRKT Kangee and this one is much more robust and heavier. The heft of it feels more substantially made rather than a hindrance. Overall this is a great product. I’m thinking of getting more as gifts to my brothers.

The Ancient Smithy tactical tomahawk is a surprisingly solid tool for the price. The overall construction feels very robust, with a full-tang, skeletonized design that keeps the balance better than expected. The center of gravity sits forward enough to give the hawk real chopping and impact potential, without making it feel like a dead steel slab in the hand. The 1065 carbon steel, hardened to around 52–56 HRC, makes sense for this kind of tool. It is not a premium steel like 80CrV2 or CPM 3V, but it is tough, easy to sharpen, and well suited for hard use. For a survival, utility, or emergency tool, I actually prefer this kind of forgiving steel over something overly hard and brittle. The main weakness is the factory edge. Mine arrived with a rather thick, rough, and slightly uneven grind. It was not very sharp out of the box and needed work with a Gränsfors sharpening puck before it started to bite properly. After some sharpening, the edge became noticeably better, but this is clearly not a premium factory finish like you would expect from Winkler or RMJ. The polymer handle scales and Kydex sheath are practical and weather-resistant. They may not feel as premium as Micarta or G10, but they fit the purpose of a low-maintenance tactical tool. Since the actual strength comes from the full tang, the handle scales are more of a comfort and grip component than a structural weakness. Overall, this tomahawk is not a refined high-end piece, but it is far from a cheap gimmick. The design is clearly inspired by more expensive tactical hawks, and the basic construction is strong. Its biggest limitation is the conservative factory edge geometry, not the steel or the frame itself. With proper sharpening or a light reprofile, it can become a very capable hard-use tomahawk.

I love my barong, this isn't your grandpa's old kindling hatchet, this is a monster of a weapon, every man should have one on his belt, pack or armor. I got the one with poly handle really nice. The barong really has the heft and ability to chop through drywall, aircraft skin, block, or protesters. Every soldier should have one close at hand. This monster would deliver a very nasty wound channel. I am putting mine in my collection. Let's not forget about it's spike for piercing and busting up hard soil for entrenching, or an opponents helmet. It also can be used for bushcraft purposes. It comes well packed in a cardboard box, with foam top and bottom, oiled and wrapped. This is a fighting man's weapon or zombie apocalypse weapon when theirs no more ammo, it can even be thrown. If used correctly you will send your enemy to the hot place.

It exceeded all my expectations I love how heavy it is also the design of the sheath is pretty bad ass just undue the bungie and its out…..just make sure you have your hand on it at it’ll take ur foot off lol
